Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to perform as a consultant for leading edge information technologies and methodologies to join our dynamic team in the Annapolis Junction MD., area. Our dynamic team provides full spectrum network connectivity including architecture, engineering, development, integration, deployment, configuration management, project management and network security services to the global enterprise, as well as systems and cloud engineering services for application modernization and transition of legacy applications into hybrid cloud platforms.

The ideal candidate will have a strong project management background coupled with network engineering skills, as well as experience with network vendor products (i.e. Cisco, Palo Alto, Sonicwall, etc.).

 

The Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Consult in highly specialized, leading edge information technologies and methodologies.
  • Provide technical guidance concerning automated solutions to complex analysis and studies and prepares reports and presentations.
  • Plan network communications systems; experience with switches and routers.
  • Design/engineering/implementation of LAN/WAN networks.
  • Maintain network infrastructure standards including network communication protocols such as TCP Transport Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).
  • Provide technical input and follow through with implementation of enhancements and upgrades to the network.
  • Evaluate and report on new communications technologies; provide technical guidance concerning automated solutions.
  • Conduct analysis of reliability, maintainability, and vulnerability.
  • Manage the project work as defined by the customer.
  • Complete assigned projects and major phases of very large projects and provides technical and specialized guidance solutions to complex IT problems.
  • Participate in integrated Product Team to design new capabilities.
  • Perform fact-finding, analysis and development of hypothesis and conclusions, production of final recommendation reports, and delivery of presentations.

**This role requires 100% on-site support M-F**

Qualifications

  • Experience in two (2) to three (3) of the following areas:
    • Network troubleshooting
    • Routers/switches
    • Cisco IOS/Junos OS
    • Firewalls
    • Hubs/Bridges/gateways
    • Network packet investigation/analysis tools
    • Database tools
  • Experience in planning network communications systems; experience with switches and routers.
  • Experience with design/engineering/implementation of LAN/WAN networks.
  • Ability to provide technical input and follow through with implementation of enhancements and upgrades to the network.
  • Experience with evaluating and reporting on new communications technologies; provide technical guidance concerning automated solutions.
  • Ability to conduct analysis of reliability, maintainability, and vulnerability.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience performing DDI (Domain Name System (DNS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), and IP Address Management (IPAM)) for critical network infrastructure services.
  • Experience supporting MultiCloud Fabric (MCF) infrastructure.
  • Cloud engineering and modernization experience.
  • Software Defined Networking experience.
  • Experience in Enterprise or Global Network Architecture is highly desired.

$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
