We are looking for a skilled Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will leverage model-based methodologies to design, analyze, and optimize complex systems across various domains. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements, create system architectures, and develop models that enhance system performance and reliability. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in systems engineering principles, as well as experience with modeling tools and techniques. Work is mostly on-site in San Antonio, TX, but will provide some remote work too.

Due to federal contract requirements, United States Citizenship and position appropriate security clearance is required. (e.g. Active Secret Level clearance).

Capabilities

    • Develop and extend system models using existing requirements, interface documentation, and related design and systems engineering documents.
    • Provide MBSE/Systems Modeling Language (SysML) expertise and related support to the entire systems engineering team.
    • Work collaboratively in a digital engineering environment, integrating data from across systems engineering disciplines into a cohesive system model.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and define system requirements and specifications.
    • Conduct system analysis and simulations to validate design concepts and performance.
    • Ensure integration of model-based approaches into the engineering lifecycle.
    • Additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

    • Security Clearance: A current TS/SCI level U.S. Government Security Clearance is required; U.S. Citizenship required. 
    • 5+ years of experience with data/systems modeling and a Bachelors in related field or 3 years experience with Masters; or High School Diploma and 9 years experience. 
    • Willingness to work on-site in San Antonio, TX about 4 days/week, with some remote work options available. Flexibility is essential to adapt to schedule changes as needed.

Required Technical Skills

    • Experience with DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF). Proficient in creating and utilizing Views to support defense-related projects.
    • Understanding of enterprise architecture principles and frameworks to drive strategic alignment and system integration.
    • Adept at engaging with IT subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather insights and seamlessly incorporate them into architectural plans.
    • Proven experience in developing and documenting systems of systems using Unified Modeling Language (UML) or Systems Modeling Language (SysML).
    • Experience in model-based systems engineering tools such as Cameo, MagicDraw, or Rhapsody, enhancing model development and validation processes.
    • Exceptional ability to articulate complex concepts and collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.

Desired Technical Skills and Certifications

    • Prior BDP experience is highly preferred.
    • DoD 8140 / 8570 compliance certifications may be required in this position as directed by the customer.

Pay Range: $59.82 - $106.68 per hour*

Compensation will vary dependent upon factors including but not limited to: Government contract rates; education; relevant prior work experience, knowledge, skills, and competencies; certifications, and geographic location. *Hourly pay rates reflect the pre-benefit gross wage amounts.
