Manufacturing Engineer

Shift Details

1st shift - 7:00AM to 3:30PM (Monday through Friday)

POSITION SUMMARY: This position requires a broad array of technical knowledge including manufacturing processes (machining, assembly, inspection), and people management skills.  Frequently interfaces with the customer, Sales, Quality and Production.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

1. Works closely with the EPTAM Production Departments on problem solving (identifying root cause of problems and assisting with technical solutions) to assorted machining, assembly, and inspection processes.
2. Ability to quote new parts utilizing current manufacturing equipment.
3. Develop processes by applying technical engineering principles.
4. Ability to lead process improvement efforts on new and existing parts. 
5. NPI process development; oversee and direct new projects as required.
6. Determine tooling requirements, both standard and custom.
7. Provide customers with technical assistance regarding product design recommendations and manufacturing applications.
8. Prepare work instructions for manufacturing, train associates to these instructions.
9. Provide any additional/supplemental documentation to aid EPTAM manufacturing departments to meet customer requirements.
10. Has the ability to create detailed drawings using CAD software.
11. Provide guidance in developing and carrying out departmental goals and growth.
12. Engineers must have a good understanding of and be able to apply Continuous Improvement, Cost Reduction, 5S activities.
13. Employee must be able to relate to other people beyond giving and receiving instructions.  Can get along with co-workers or peers and respond appropriately to feedback from a supervisor in a professional manner.
14. Proper handling of all material and parts to prevent damage and loss of finished product.

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

1. EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical engineering or manufacturing engineering technology. 
2. EXPERIENCE: Five years experience in a manufacturing environment performing CNC and Manual machine operation.  CAD design and programming experience.
3. LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS AND/REGISTRATIONS: None
4. OTHER MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to interpret and explain complex drawings.  Understanding of CNC machining processes, including set-up, operations, and control language.  Must possess good written and verbal communication skills with our internal and external customer base.
