Junior Data Infrastructure Engineer

Role Overview: The Junior Data Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and monitoring the technology systems and infrastructure. This role requires a passion for end-user support and the ability to provide exceptional service. Key Responsibilities:

• Data Infrastructure: Build and maintain systems related to data orchestration, distributed storage, and streaming infrastructure while ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
• End-User Support: Provide technical support (installation, configuration, troubleshooting) 
• Issue Diagnosis: Diagnose and fix issues with hardware, software, and applications, in partnership with external IT providers.
• Proactive Support: Deliver both proactive and reactive support to business units, addressing critical issues in a timely manner.
• Infrastructure Maintenance: Monitor and maintain infrastructure, including configurations, patching, automation, system upgrades, and security.
• Uptime & Availability: Ensure the systems' uptime, reliability, and security.
• Vendor Liaison: Work with third-party vendors and IT providers for specific requirements.
• Documentation: Track and enforce IT policies and procedures.

Experience:

• Minimum two years of experience in cloud infrastructure and systems integration.
• BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a relevant field.
• System Administration and Enterprise IT project management experience are preferred.
• Familiarity with networking hardware/software (e.g., switches, firewalls, LAN/WAN) is preferred.
• Comfortable with ambiguity and rapid change.
• Highly organized and able to multi-task effectively.
• Eager to learn and share knowledge with others. 

Technical Skills:

• Familiar with Synapse data pipelines, API integration, and automation.
• Proficient in PowerShell and Python.
• Understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Familiar with SQL database management, query optimization, and database integration.
• Experience with data analytics tools like Domo, Power BI, or Tableau.
