Evaluate and optimize thermal management design for utility-scale battery energy storage projects
Develop technical scopes of work focused on thermal management systems for contract documentation
Support projects from conception to execution, including on-site commissioning activities
Collaborate with suppliers to successfully integrate major equipment components
Provide engineering expertise and oversight to external Engineers of Record
Identify value engineering opportunities and emerging technology prospects
Troubleshoot thermal management issues for existing BESS installations
Work cross-functionally with project managers and multidisciplinary teams
BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field from an ABET accredited program
5+ years of engineering experience with focus on thermal management systems
Expert knowledge of HVAC systems (hydronic, air-cooled, VRF)
Understanding of battery energy storage heat generation and dissipation requirements
Familiarity with safety standards (UL1973, UL9540, UL9540A, NFPA 855, NFPA 70E)
Experience with lithium-ion battery technologies and power conversion equipment
Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking
Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
