Job Description

C Speed’s Engineering Services Group specializes in custom engineering support for our clients. Our capabilities range from software development to electronics and mechanical designs, with a particular expertise in embedded software development and formal software quality assurance (SQA). C Speed’s project teams can work flexibly as an integrated part of client engineering teams or as independent, turnkey solution providers. The Engineering Services Group has extensive experience working directly with customers across a wide variety of domains, from global powerhouses to start-ups and everything in between.

C Speed is seeking a Director of Programs for its Engineering Services Group which currently comprises >20 engineers. A strong background in various management roles is required to oversee multiple client projects and internal initiatives. This position requires a detail-oriented professional with excellent communication and organizational skills to manage a variety of responsibilities.


Responsibilities

  • Project Management
    • Manage multiple clients and internal projects from start to finish.
    • Manage schedules and budgets.
    • Weekly  status reports to clients.
    • Chair team meetings (internal and client facing), distribute meeting minutes.
    • Maintain positive client relationships and resolve internal and external conflicts.
    • Obtain project evaluations from clients, hold lessons learned meetings.
  • Program Management
    • Balance needs and priorities across multiple, concurrent client projects.
    • Manage resource load balancing for the team.
    • Oversee multiple active customer efforts including internal R&D projects.
    • Maintain very high application rate of available resources.
  • Account Management
    • Prepare and deliver technical and cost proposals to the client (including amendments as appropriate).
    • Review and approve customer invoices.
    • Coordinate with clients on budget allocation needs and roadmaps.
  • Division Lead
    • Generate monthly reports for executive leadership.
    • Propose plans and participate in periodic meetings with the President to discuss the division’s roadmap and business development (BD) strategies.
    • Work with President on various business development opportunities.
    • Identify areas of process improvement, implement and monitor solutions for effectiveness.
    • Weekly timecard review and approval for Services Group members.
    • Identify delegation/growth opportunities, drive strategic team growth, develop tiger teams, active mentorship.
    • Identify areas for process improvement, implement changes to increase efficiency and productivity.
    • Direct Services Group recruiting efforts (e.g., job fairs, interviews, offer letters, managing co-op program, develop co-op pipeline, manage ATS).
    • Conduct employee evaluations (e.g., full-time annual reviews, periodic co-op review form, institute Performance Improvement Plans as necessary).
    • Review/Approve team’s monthly expense reimbursement submissions.
    • Prepare periodic all-hands presentation, present alongside other division leads.
  • Perform other duties as needed to help drive to our Vision, fulfill our Mission,  and abide by our Organization’s Values.

Education/Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or related field
  • 10+ years of project/technical experience
  • 5+ years of managerial/team leadership experience
  • PMP® certification a plus
